aucklandgolfclub.co.nz is an independent information site about golf in Auckland and the rest of New Zealand. We write for people who want clear, practical answers: where to play, what a round or a bucket of balls is likely to involve, how the scoring works and what gear is worth understanding before you buy. The site is not a golf club and is not connected to any club, course, retailer or tour.

What we do

We publish guides that explain golf in plain language, with New Zealand readers in mind. Our content falls into a few broad areas:

We do not take tee-time bookings, sell memberships, sell equipment or run lessons. For any of those, you will need to contact the club, range, coach or retailer directly.

Our principles

Accuracy first

Details such as green fees, opening hours, visitor policies and course layouts change. We check facts against primary sources wherever we can, such as a club’s own website, Golf New Zealand and official tournament information, and we update pages when we learn that something has changed. If a detail matters to your plans, confirm it with the venue before you travel.

Plain language

Golf has a great deal of jargon. We explain terms the first time we use them and try to write so that a complete beginner can follow along without feeling talked down to.

Neutral and independent

We describe venues, products and events as factually as we can. We do not rank clubs or retailers in return for payment, and where an article links to an external commercial website, that link does not change how we present the facts.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it. Readers who spot an error are a real help to us, and we welcome every correction.

The editorial team

The site is run by a small editorial team with an interest in golf at every level, from a first visit to a driving range through to the professional tours.

Fraser Aldridge is the site’s editor and lead writer. Fraser is responsible for what is published here: planning the topics we cover, writing and editing the guides, checking facts against their sources and keeping older pages up to date.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to support parts of our work, such as gathering background material, organising an outline and preparing a first draft. Nothing is published on that basis alone. Every article is read, edited and fact-checked by a person before it goes live, and the editor remains responsible for the result.

You can read more about how this works in our AI policy.

Contact

Have you found an error, an out-of-date fee or a course detail that no longer holds? Or is there a topic you would like us to cover? Please get in touch through our contact page. We read everything we receive and reply as soon as we can.

Please note that we cannot help with tee bookings, membership enquiries or lost property at any golf club. Those questions need to go to the club itself.

Gamble responsibly

A small number of our articles about professional tournaments mention betting odds. We cover this as information only. We do not give betting tips, we do not accept bets and nothing on this site is an encouragement to gamble.

Gambling is for adults only. In New Zealand you must be 18 or over to bet with TAB NZ and 20 or over to enter a casino. Betting should only ever be done with money you can afford to lose, and no statistic or leaderboard analysis changes the odds.

If gambling is causing you or someone close to you concern, free and confidential help is available:
